Sweet Patinated Couple

Published at www.artdekor.blogspot.com on 17.11.09

So happened I created a “bottle couple”. They both are so touching that I could not separate them. The bottles are even stored together in one box :)

Maybe it's silly and funny, but they seem to be in love with each other :)

Objects are made in patinating technique, although while creating I did not know that there is such a technique
:) It just seemed natural to me the combination of green and metallic copper.

But recently patina became fashionable. Patination - technique of imitation (or creating) a metal oxide. To simulate a metal oxide effect, acrylic paints can be used. To create oxidated metal surface special chemical oxidants should be used.

Bottles Decoration by opaque colors

Here I decided to emphasize not the material but the shape of glass products, using opaque acrylicpaints.

Of course, acrylic paints should be protected! I served varnish, which gave also an additional decorative effect. For example, I covered the black bottle with glassy varnish, so the glass gloss returned again :)

Shells and glass - my favorite approach!!!

Here is a little bit of my old works done by three-dimensional paints on glass and pearl shells.

Nothing compares to nacre overflow and brilliance. These shells look like a jewel and I may enjoy this light playing for hours! :)

Texture pastes on the glass

That
is how
I used the volume paints
for the glass (also so called textured pastes, art gels).
I’m especially inspired by Pearl Paint.

Also while creating I used solvent-based transparent glass paints.
